EXHIBITION OF WATER COLOUR PAINTINGS BY SH. CHAMAN SHARMA AT THE MODERN ART EXHIBITION HALL, IRMT (31.05.09 — 05.06.09)

Chaman Sharma before the inauguration of his solo show

Wonderful exhibition of water colour paintings by Chaman Sharma from Solan, Himachal Pradesh, was inaugurated by the Executive Director of the IRMT on Sunday, 31st May.

In this show the artist has exhibited his 42 paintings which were executed in water colour technique. Majority of these works have been painted on the spot.

Chaman Sharma have tried his best to maintain the transparency of the medium. His main inspiration is the sweetness of natural beauty of Himachal Pradesh.

Chaman Sharma exhibited his works in different parts of India. Recently, Burland Gallery, London had sponsored a group show of 100 Indian artists at London. Works of Chaman Sharma,  the only artist from Himachal Pradesh were also selected for this grand show.

Chaman Sharma received about 15 awards (all India and state level) till date.

Chaman Sharma's credo: Nature is the ultimate piece of art created by the Almighty God.  Purity of colour/texture and tone - all are combined in Nature.  Art of any form is similar to meditation. It links artist with God.

Chaman Sharma's works are in the collections of many Indian and foreign art lovers, as well as at the Himachal Pradesh State Museum, Kurukshetra University and other places.
Currently Chaman Sharma works as a Lecturer of Painting at the Government Girls College (R.K.M.V.)  Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
