EXHIBITION OF WOODEN SCULPTURES, PAINTINGS & PAINTED MIRRORS BY MARLIS PRICE, UK, AT THE MODERN ART EXHIBITION HALL, IRMT
(16.08.2011 – 01.09.2011)

Artist Marlis Price at her exhibition in the Modern Art Exhibition hall

Synthesis of art – the wooden sculptures, paintings, cards and painted mirrors – was displayed at the new exhibition held by Marlis Price from England. Visitors view with an interest such a wide scale of art objects created by one person.

Paintings pictured professionally and realistically captured life of the simple people in the Kullu valley – here ladies work in the fields, there the ladies go in the village in their beautiful ‘patu’ – the outer dress, sort of a blanket with intrinsically woven Kullu trademark designs and ornaments.

Painted mirrors – it was something visitors could not see before. And it was largely appreciated, to see the thing of everyday use to be turned into a piece of art. Especially by the ladies.
The exhibition will last till 1st September 2011.
