On the 4th September a new painting exhibition has been inaugurated by Sh.Vinod Kumar, ADM Kullu, at the Modern Art Exhibition hall.

‘Ladakh – Stronghold of the Spirit’ – was title of the exhibition that presented 26 paintings executed by Natalya Zaitseva-Borisova during her journey through Ladakh she just came from. She visited ancient Buddhist monasteries, and was enchanted by beauty of nature and impressive landscapes of Ladakh. In her paintings executed in pastel on paper, Natalya depicted majesty of hilly kingdom, its mighty palaces bathed in the last fiery rays of the sun, as well as the mystical ‘Moon valley’ near Lamayuru monastery, covered by the full moon cold light. Mighty Lord Maitreya – Savior of the future – huge statue carved in the solid rock at Moulbek became the most favorite Natalya’s place, and the painting drawn on the spot she cherishes most of all.

Ranges of high mountains visible from Ladakh were also captured by the painter.

Verily, Natalya’s exhibition vividly carries the spirit of highlands of Ladakh and is highly recommended to be visited by all lovers of Art and Mountains.
