This festival is being celebrated on the Birthday’s eve of Krishna – one of the Avatars (reincarnation) of Lord Vishnu. On this evening, villagers of Naggar come to the ancient Krishna temple on the top of the hill at Naggar. The main Pujari (priest) of the Temple conducts special Puja (service) dedicated to Lord Krishna. After the service, Kirtan starts – all people sing devotional songs – bhajans and dance at the courtyard of the Temple. Good mood prevails for the whole night – people disperse to their home only in the early morning – maybe tired, but happy.
